Our Story

Striving for Change

Street Cats Founder, Andre Clark, recently addressed the Burlington City Council to advocate for the rights of the unhoused in our community. With heartfelt conviction, he urged the Council to prioritize humane, long-term solutions over punitive measures, calling for an end to the criminalization of homelessness. Emphasizing the need for affordable housing, expanded mental health services, and safer spaces for unhoused individuals, Andre Clark made a powerful plea for a more compassionate approach. Their speech reminded the city leaders that homelessness is not a moral failure but a complex issue that requires empathy, justice, and systemic change. His words were a call to action, urging the Council to invest in dignity and support for all members of our community, especially the most vulnerable.
